Establishing more than 55 control points to monitor fires in Homs Governorate
Establishing more than 55 control points to monitor fires in different areas of Homs Governorate, especially where fires are expected to occur, and include large agricultural and forest areas, with the aim of reducing the occurrence of fires and minimizing their damage.
During an inspection tour of the Governor of Homs, Engineer Bassam Parsik, on a number of these points in the areas planted with wheat and barley crops in the northern countryside of Homs (Ashrafiyeh, Zafarana, Deir Fol, Rastan, Talbiseh, and Kafrnan), the governor was briefed on the readiness of these points, their readiness, and the measures taken to deal with any possible fires. Its occurrence through continuous monitoring throughout the day according to the shift program of the assigned committees during the next two weeks until the completion of the harvest of crops in these areas.
Eng. Parsik stressed that Homs Governorate, in coordination with various concerned authorities, took many proactive measures to avoid fires, as these preparations played a major role in reducing the size of fires, noting that Homs Governorate was a pioneer in the experiment of creating observation points and was a forerunner at the level of other governorates.
The governor also toured a number of agricultural fields and was briefed on the preparations taken to start harvesting wheat and barley crops and providing all supplies, including fuel for agricultural harvesters, with the importance of educating farmers to take preventive measures to reduce the occurrence of fires and to stay away from work that may lead to this.
