The General Authority of the Homs Chamber of Commerce holds its annual meeting at the House of Culture in Homs
The General Authority of the Homs Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting in the House of Culture in Homs, where the merchants of Homs called for the necessity of investing in the fairgrounds, raising the salaries of retirees and canceling the income tax from the commercial registry, in addition to the importance of re-amending the tax laws and simplifying procedures for the wounded and people with disabilities who wish to enter the business. They demanded an increase in the value of the death benefit and an amendment of laws to suit the current circumstances, in addition to other issues.
During his attendance at the meeting, the Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, touched on the program implemented by Homs Governorate, through which the neediest group is identified, and the efforts made by the Homs Chamber of Commerce, pointing out that Homs Governorate has accomplished a lot in terms of small and micro enterprises and in supporting small and micro enterprises. In turn, the Governor of Homs, Eng. Bassam Parsik, affirmed the governorate’s support for the Chamber’s initiatives due to its role in meeting the needs of citizens.
For his part, Omar Houriya, Secretary of the Homs branch of the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party, pointed out the need for concerted efforts to provide the best.
While the head of the Homs Chamber of Commerce, Iyad al-Sibai, indicated that the aim of the meeting was to review the work that took place last year and the efforts made to enhance the role of the Chamber of Commerce by meeting the needs of citizens at all levels, and the chamber’s plan for the coming year.
The meeting included honoring several commercial activities, including businessmen and women, and contributors to the “Bread and Salt” initiative.
