The launch of the irrigation project “Ain al-Qusayr – Mahin” in the eastern countryside of Homs

The launch of the work #Irrigation_Ain_Al-Qusair_Mahin_Project in the eastern countryside of Homs, in cooperation between the Ministry of Water Resources, the Governorate of Homs, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Food Program.
The Governor of Homs, Engineer Bassam Parsik, stressed during the inauguration of the project its importance in improving the irrigation situation in the region in terms of irrigating hundreds of dunums of agricultural land. Water resources, explaining that the project works mainly through renewable solar energy, in addition to installing a transformer and an electric generator.

For his part, the Director of Water Resources stated that the area was previously served by an irrigation project based on a well, two traction lines and a pumping station, but it was sabotaged and tampered with at the hands of terrorist groups, so work was done to rehabilitate the entire group in cooperation with international organizations with the addition of some improvements to the project, where a well was added to it A new one with a depth of 500 m and an intensity of 27 l / sec, indicating that the project irrigates 380 dunums of agricultural land through two pressurized lines, the first irrigates a drip and spray irrigation network, and the second, with a length of 1200 m, irrigates 24 hectares.

It is noteworthy that the inauguration was attended by the Vice President of the Executive Office, a member of the competent Executive Office, the Director of Social Affairs and Labor, representatives of international organizations and events from the people of the region.
